Martial arts — seen differently

A free online workshop on presence, clarity and embodied practice.

Martial arts are often seen as combat, technique or performance. Yet originally, they were more than that: a way of encountering oneself. In practice, it becomes clear how we react, how we move and what guides us from within.

It is not about fighting better, but about becoming clearer. This is precisely where Embodied Philosophy comes in. It understands martial arts as an embodied engagement with oneself, from which change can emerge. Not through pressure or optimisation, but through presence and understanding.

The Lab is aimed at people who are interested in personal development and would like to experience how movement and lived philosophy can contribute to genuine transformation.

The Embodied Philosophy Lab is a free online programme where you can experience this approach in practice.

What exactly is the Lab?

  • a guided online session (via Zoom)
  • you take an active part (not just theory)
  • simple physical exercises
  • combined with reflection and discussion

No prior knowledge is required.

How does it work?

The workshop alternates between practical activities, reflection and discussion.

  • 45–60 minutes of guided practice
  • simple exercises that can be experienced directly
  • time for questions and discussion

You don’t need

  • any martial arts experience
  • to be particularly fit
  • just a bit of space to move around

This is for you if…

  • you’re interested in bodywork, mindfulness or movement
  • you’re already familiar with things like yoga, breathwork or similar practices
  • you’re looking for an approach that goes deeper but remains grounded

What you’ll take with you

  • a clearer sense of presence in your body
  • more awareness in moments of reaction
  • a different perspective on martial arts
